After 6 played minutes Vauxhall FC got a freekick which was hit by Shane Giugno. In the 8th minute of the match, Benjamin Gerrard tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rodney Cookson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Brandon Dodgson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waterloo and South Bank AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brandon Dodgson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Shipley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Scott Whieldon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Rodney Cookson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vauxhall FC's Scott Whieldon got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walter Shipley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronny Breckin's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Gerrard in the 27th minute of play forced Waterloo and South Bank AFC's goalkeeper Rodney Cookson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Andre Morse fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterloo and South Bank AFC's protests and gave Andre Morse a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes Waterloo and South Bank AFC got a freekick which was hit by Andre Morse. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Scott Whieldon managed to get in a good position for a shot. When Benjamin Gerrard came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Vauxhall FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Gerrard couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Vauxhall FC booed when Waterloo and South Bank AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Morse didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Scott Whieldon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Gerrard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rodney Cookson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47thth minute of the game Scott Whieldon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Waterloo and South Bank AFC's Rodney Cookson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benjamin Gerrard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rodney Cookson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Gerrard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vauxhall FC's Walter Shipley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brandon Dodgson in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Benjamin Gerrard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Waterloo and South Bank AFC's goalie and right to Tod Hinchcliffe. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Waterloo and South Bank AFC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Benjamin Gerrard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rodney Cookson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walter Shipley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brandon Dodgson went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Rodney Cookson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scott Whieldon in the 71st minute of the match. Waterloo and South Bank AFC's Rodney Cookson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Scott Whieldon in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Ronny Breckin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Benjamin Gerrard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Scott Whieldon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodney Cookson. Waterloo and South Bank AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Scott Whieldon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Brandon Dodgson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Shipley having to interfere. If Scott Whieldon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vauxhall FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
