Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Donny Haper made the kick off and thus started the match. A collision led to Scarborough getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Adrian Gregory hit a great ball. In the 5th minute, Dominic Constantine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicky Neville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Groves having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donny Haper in the 20th minute of play forced Scarborough's goalkeeper Louie Broom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donny Haper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Louie Broom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Nicky Neville fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of David Groves, passed just outside the right post. Nicky Neville charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicky Neville the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Scarborough's Nicky Neville got a free kick in the 26th minute. Philip Sherwood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Groves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicky Neville, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Philip Sherwood managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scarborough's supporters rose to their feet, but Philip Sherwood was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Groves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Groves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicky Neville in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Tim Jump hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Scarborough's Nicky Neville got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Folkestone City's goal looked a bit too open when Nicky Neville came free, but David Groves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute Scarborough were awarded a corner. Duncan Winter went to the cornerflag to take it. Duncan Winter made a great header on Scarborough's corner, it was just that Folkestone City's David Groves managed to reach the ball for a save. When Nicky Neville came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Scarborough fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicky Neville couldn't finish the play. Philip Sherwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Groves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicky Neville, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Folkestone City's David Groves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Sherwood in the 85th minute of play. When Scarborough's Nicky Neville in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Folkestone City's goalie prevented a goal. Scarborough walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
