Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After a rather tough play, Frome City's Harvey Ainge got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Bryan Clayton struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Rupert Avery didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frome City. Bryan Clayton took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rupert Avery. Rupert Avery dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. LC Exiles's Rupert Avery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Clayton in the 17th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bryan Clayton in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rupert Avery saved LC Exiles from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivor Renwick during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 22 minutes into the game, one of LC Exiles:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Bill Owen walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 25 minutes into the game, Marc Upson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LC Exiles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Frome City the free kick. In the 25th minute, Marc Upson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bryan Clayton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Rupert Avery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Rupert Avery managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Frome City's Alastair Mahon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 33 minutes into the match, LC Exiles's goalkeeper Rupert Avery had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alastair Mahon. If Alastair Mahon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alastair Mahon's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rupert Avery firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, LC Exiles's Rupert Avery got control of the ball when Alastair Mahon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marc Upson kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Bryan Clayton fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience was convinced that Bryan Clayton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rupert Avery was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Spike Kellaway was the one to do the kick off. LC Exiles's Rupert Avery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alastair Mahon in the 51st minute of play. Alastair Mahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bryan Clayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Avery having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Bryan Clayton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frome City's supporters rose to their feet, but Bryan Clayton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rupert Avery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 59 minutes into the match, Frome City's Alastair Mahon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rupert Avery narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alastair Mahon in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rupert Avery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th match minute, Frome City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Darby to maneuver through the defense. Des Beecham took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rupert Avery. LC Exiles's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 69th minute, Spike Kellaway hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rupert Avery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Clayton in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Bryan Clayton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Frome City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 85 minutes into the game, Alastair Mahon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Rupert Avery was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 91 minutes of play, Frome City's Alastair Mahon made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rupert Avery was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Bryan Clayton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Frome City had played much better football throughout.
