Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) HEELABY's Graeme Shakespeare started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Glyn Munday had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gav Ferdinand. HEELABY's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glyn Munday was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Graeme Shakespeare got free with Connor Wendon in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Lytham City's goalkeeper Connor Wendon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Watkinson. The referee felt a red card was in order, 15 minutes into the game, when Kasey Markham put in a rough tackle. In the 17th minute there was a penalty for HEELABY. Leo Thompson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Connor Wendon. 1-1. HEELABY's Sam Watkinson got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Robert Jeffrey could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Connor Wendon however easily saved by the left post. Gav Ferdinand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frazer Hargreaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lytham City's Connor Wendon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Lytham City from getting a goal against them. 38 minutes into the match, Sam Watkinson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Connor Wendon, 3-1. HEELABY's Gav Ferdinand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frazer Hargreaves in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Frazer Hargreaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gav Ferdinand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Graeme Shakespeare's late challenge caught a Lytham City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Graeme Shakespeare helped the player get up and apologised. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Frazer Hargreaves made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Lytham City defense, Robert Jeffrey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Connor Wendon. The Lytham City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Connor Wendon should have stopped the shot. Connor Wendon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graeme Shakespeare in the 57th minute of the match. Gav Ferdinand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glyn Munday, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute Allan Turner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Wendon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Connor Wendon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Watkinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Frazer Hargreaves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Gav Ferdinand made a huge save. In the 78th minute Glyn Munday shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gav Ferdinand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sam Watkinson kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Lytham City's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme Shakespeare came free, but Connor Wendon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Connor Wendon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Jeffrey in the 88th minute of play. Connor Wendon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam Watkinson in the 91st minute of the match. Lytham City's Connor Wendon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Turner in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Sam Watkinson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The HEELABY fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. There was no doubt that HEELABY were the better team. HEELABY's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
