The supporters of All Stars booed when Lytham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glyn Munday didn't get a good kick on the ball. All Stars's Robert Medley came free and shot a quick shot against goal 12 minutes in the game, fortunately Connor Wendon had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 19th minute Theo Bamford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyn Monkhouse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theo Bamford in the 27th minute of play forced All Stars's goalkeeper Martyn Monkhouse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Lytham City's goalkeeper Connor Wendon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Medley. Martyn Monkhouse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theo Bamford, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute Frazer Hargreaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyn Monkhouse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Medley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Medley to make the kick off. The referee ignored All Stars's protests and gave Robert Medley a yellow card for diving instead. Frazer Hargreaves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martyn Monkhouse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. If Robert Medley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Medley struck a weak shot in the 76th minute.
