Spectators: 6639 (Terracing: 5639, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Leon Hampton kicked off to start the match. Reg Eyre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Terry Winfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 minutes, Christopher Strickland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the St Mirren and the FC Tulips players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes St Mirren got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Strickland. In the 13th minute, Crispin Turner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christopher Strickland kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Reg Eyre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Winfield having to interfere. After a rather tough play, St Mirren's Ozzy Griggs got a free kick in the 21st minute. Greg Lincoln, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Terry Winfield came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Tulips's Reg Eyre. But to his dismay, Reg Eyre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. St Mirren's Terry Winfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Crispin Turner in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Crispin Turner in the 33rd minute of play forced St Mirren's goalkeeper Terry Winfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Terry Winfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Crispin Turner in the 35th minute of play. Curtis Peake blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Les Holland having to make a save. Terry Winfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reg Eyre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Crispin Turner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ozzy Griggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Les Holland having to interfere. 47 minutes in the game, Curtis Peake fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Les Holland having to interfere.

Curtis Peake might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Les Holland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Curtis Peake ran back to his position shaking his head. If Crispin Turner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC Tulips booed when St Mirren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ozzy Griggs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Crispin Turner let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 60th minute shot 0-3 at rihgt post. If Curtis Peake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Curtis Peake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Les Holland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Curtis Peake, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Reg Eyre might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Terry Winfield. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reg Eyre ran back to his position shaking his head. Crispin Turner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Winfield having to interfere. Les Holland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Curtis Peake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Curtis Peake in the 87th minute of play forced FC Tulips's goalkeeper Les Holland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reg Eyre in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Terry Winfield saved St Mirren from getting behind. In the 96th match minute, St Mirren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Hampton to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Tulips eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
