Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Spike Jewson kicked off to start the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Crowthorne fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! Greg Lincoln walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Dave Cousens fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Tulips's protests and gave Dave Cousens a yellow card for diving instead. Basil Deeney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Crispin Turner in the 19th minute of the match. If Teddy Watkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teddy Watkins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Les Holland made a huge save. 25 minutes into the game, Teddy Watkins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Les Holland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC Tulips's Les Holland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save FC Tulips from getting a goal against them. Simon Kear could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Les Holland made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alastair West during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Crowthorne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alastair West to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reg Eyre to strike the kick off in the second half. When Teddy Watkins came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Crowthorne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teddy Watkins couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reg Eyre in the 72nd minute of play forced Crowthorne's goalkeeper Basil Deeney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Crowthorne booed when FC Tulips was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Ainge didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Teddy Watkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Teddy Watkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Les Holland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Crowthorne's goal looked a bit too open when Reg Eyre came free, but Basil Deeney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute Simon Kear shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Les Holland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute Crowthorne were awarded a corner. Christian Goodwick went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, Crowthorne's Simon Kear got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Crowthorne's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
