But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthew Boston couldn't finish the play. Matthew Boston's late challenge caught a Ferndown FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Boston helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Callum Forbes made a precise shot to the right of Tod Carey. Stockton-on-Tees's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Callum Forbes in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tod Carey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Callum Forbes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tod Carey was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Callum Forbes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Carey having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Stockton-on-Tees's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Little came free, but Tod Carey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Callum Forbes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ferndown FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Tod Carey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Callum Forbes in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Callum Forbes in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tod Carey saved Stockton-on-Tees from getting behind. Tod Carey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Callum Forbes's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Callum Forbes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Callum Forbes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Callum Forbes in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tod Carey saved Stockton-on-Tees from getting behind. When Pat Fayle came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Ferndown FC fans jumped to their feet. The crowd rose to their feet as Ferndown FC's Callum Forbes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tod Carey. That made the score 0-5 after 56 minutes of play. 61 minutes into the match, Stockton-on-Tees's goal looked a bit too open when Pat Fayle came free, but Tod Carey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carl Martin during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carl Martin kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Callum Forbes might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tod Carey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Callum Forbes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 73rdth minute of the game Callum Forbes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stockton-on-Tees's Tod Carey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Adrian Little managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ferndown FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Little was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Callum Forbes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Tod Carey made a huge save. Callum Forbes in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tod Carey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Stockton-on-Tees's Tod Carey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Stockton-on-Tees from getting a goal against them. After 85 minutes, Callum Forbes made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Stockton-on-Tees's Tod Carey tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fraser Robins charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fraser Robins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Stockton-on-Tees getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Fraser Robins hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ferndown FC's Pat Fayle got a free kick in the 92nd minute. If Niall Green had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Stockton-on-Tees fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ferndown FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
