The audience was convinced that Niall Green's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bob Floyd was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthew Boston in the 11th minute of play forced Warwick FC's goalkeeper Bob Floyd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Niall Green had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alistair Vine came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Warwick FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alistair Vine couldn't finish the play. If Zaq Bull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the game, one of Stockton-on-Tees:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tod Carey had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Phillip Portway's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Niall Green received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bob Floyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Fraser Robins fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stockton-on-Tees's protests and gave Fraser Robins a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Stockton-on-Tees's Fraser Robins got a free kick in the 28th minute. Tod Carey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaq Bull, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 37 played minutes Warwick FC got a freekick which was hit by Kirk Milner. Niall Green received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Bob Floyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bob Floyd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niall Green, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaq Bull made a kick off. Matthew Boston might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bob Floyd. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matthew Boston ran back to his position shaking his head. Matthew Boston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Floyd having to interfere. Zaq Bull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Alistair Vine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Carey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The attack was good, but when Zaq Bull in the 73rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Alistair Vine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Tod Carey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Zaq Bull notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Stockton-on-Tees's Tod Carey. Tod Carey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alistair Vine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Warwick FC's Phillip Portway couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 87th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Stockton-on-Tees. If Matthew Boston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Niall Green ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bob Floyd was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Niall Green struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Bob Floyd didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stockton-on-Tees.
