Spectators: 5010 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 10) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Donald Davenport kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donald Davenport during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 5 played minutes Dover got a freekick which was hit by Donald Davenport. After 8 played minutes Wanstead got a freekick which was hit by Jim Parkin. Malcolm Merris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dion Brewer, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Wanstead's goal looked a bit too open when Lance Almond came free, but Malcolm Merris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute Dion Brewer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Merris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Wanstead's goal looked a bit too open when Lance Almond came free, but Malcolm Merris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Wanstead's Jim Parkin got a free kick in the 31st minute. Donald Davenport blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Malcolm Merris having to make a save. Malcolm Merris stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donald Davenport's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Lance Almond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Merris having to interfere. Donald Davenport recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donald Davenport sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jim Parkin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Donald Davenport came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Dover fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donald Davenport couldn't finish the play. Malcolm Merris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lance Almond in the 53rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Donald Davenport kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Malcolm Merris. That made the score 0-2 in the 56 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Jim Parkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wanstead's supporters rose to their feet, but Jim Parkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chaz Dwyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lance Almond blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Malcolm Merris having to make a save. Jim Parkin hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Dover's Donald Davenport, in the 64th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Dover. In the 66thth minute of the game Donald Davenport who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wanstead's Malcolm Merris was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Donald Davenport received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Malcolm Merris came out and tried to block the shot, but Donald Davenport slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 71st minute. In the 82nd minute of the match Laurence Weir sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Malcolm Merris skillfully saved the ball. Malcolm Merris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donald Davenport, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Donald Davenport was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. Dover's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 88 minutes, Lance Almond managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dover's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lance Almond was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Dover's Donald Davenport slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Malcolm Merris. That made the score 0-4 after 92 minutes of play. Dover's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
