If Carl May had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Carl May came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Polonia Leszno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carl May couldn't finish the play. If Carl May had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 14 minutes into the match, Hobbiton Athletic's goalkeeper Johnny Gray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carl May. Blair Noble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casey Tolley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johnny Gray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Rotherfield in the 18th minute of play. If Casey Tolley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chip Aiston in the 26th minute of play forced Polonia Leszno's goalkeeper Blair Noble to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chip Aiston kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The goalkeeper, Johnny Gray, was totally fooled by Polonia Leszno's Pete Smith, who 39 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Chip Aiston struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Blair Noble didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hobbiton Athletic. Hobbiton Athletic's Johnny Gray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Rotherfield in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tom Rotherfield made a kick off. Carl May fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Gray having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Polonia Leszno's goal looked a bit too open when Chip Aiston came free, but Blair Noble reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Chip Aiston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pete Smith took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Johnny Gray. Hobbiton Athletic's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kristopher Bryden charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kristopher Bryden the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hobbiton Athletic booed when Polonia Leszno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristopher Bryden didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Polonia Leszno's Tom Rotherfield sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johnny Gray narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Hobbiton Athletic defense, Tom Rotherfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnny Gray. The Hobbiton Athletic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnny Gray should have stopped the shot. After having played for 87 minutes, Carl May managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Polonia Leszno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carl May was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Polonia Leszno's Blair Noble got control of the ball when Casey Tolley tried to sneak it across the goal line.
