After a rather tough play, Hobbiton Athletic's Andy Parrott got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes, Stonehouse's Ben Botham shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Johnny Gray came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stonehouse reached it. Johnny Gray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lance Clifford, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Stonehouse's Lance Clifford got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Casey Tolley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Vernon Longstaffe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lance Clifford in the 34th minute of play forced Hobbiton Athletic's goalkeeper Johnny Gray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lance Clifford took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnny Gray. Johnny Gray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hobbiton Athletic's Johnny Gray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lance Clifford in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Luke Gunn charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luke Gunn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luke Gunn hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Johnny Gray was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lance Clifford showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 80 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Casey Tolley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hobbiton Athletic's supporters rose to their feet, but Casey Tolley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vernon Longstaffe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 88 minutes, Chip Aiston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hobbiton Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chip Aiston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chip Aiston struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Vernon Longstaffe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hobbiton Athletic. Stonehouse's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
