After a rather tough play, Dover's Dion Brewer got a free kick in the 9th minute. Hobbiton Athletic's Tony Marston couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 10th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Dover. Donald Davenport scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johnny Gray, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 16 minutes, Dion Brewer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dover and the Hobbiton Athletic players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th match minute, Dover was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dion Brewer to maneuver through the defense. When Dover's Lance Almond in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Dover booed when Hobbiton Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnny Neville didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dover's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hobbiton Athletic the free kick. Simeon Buckle kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. During the 40th minute of the match Dion Brewer completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dion Brewer a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 41 played minutes Dover got a freekick which was hit by Dion Brewer. In the 42nd minute of the match Tony Marston sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chaz Dwyer skillfully saved the ball. Casey Tolley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Chaz Dwyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Lance Almond made the kick off in the second half. Donald Davenport might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johnny Gray. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donald Davenport ran back to his position shaking his head. Richard Buckley kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. When Hobbiton Athletic's Casey Tolley, in the 55th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Hobbiton Athletic. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dover! In the 58th minute there was a penalty for Hobbiton Athletic. Tony Marston stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chaz Dwyer. 1-2. Donald Davenport sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the match, Hobbiton Athletic's goalkeeper Johnny Gray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aaron Barton. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donald Davenport got free with Johnny Gray in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd match minute, Hobbiton Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chip Aiston to maneuver through the defense. After 74 played minutes Dover got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Barton. Casey Tolley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the game, Teddy Braithwaite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dover's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hobbiton Athletic the free kick. Teddy Braithwaite kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Johnny Gray made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donald Davenport in the 83rd minute. Dover's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Huey Cryer in the 85th minute. Dover's Huey Cryer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Johnny Gray in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Donald Davenport blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Johnny Gray having to make a save. Aaron Barton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Gray having to interfere. Casey Tolley struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Chaz Dwyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hobbiton Athletic. In the 97th minute, Casey Tolley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Dover had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
