Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5623, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jim Parkin took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Tom Rotherfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Merris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 6 played minutes Wanstead got a freekick which was hit by Zak Moss. Tom Rotherfield's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Malcolm Merris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl May got free with Malcolm Merris in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carl May fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Merris having to interfere. Tom Rotherfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Carl May came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Polonia Leszno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carl May couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the match, Wanstead's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Rotherfield came free, but Malcolm Merris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wanstead's Malcolm Merris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Wanstead from getting a goal against them. Polonia Leszno's Blair Noble played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Woodhouse in the 30th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Tom Rotherfield dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Malcolm Merris, 1-0. Blair Noble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Parkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tom Rotherfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Carl May managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polonia Leszno's supporters rose to their feet, but Carl May was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malcolm Merris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 63rd minute, Zak Moss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Tom Rotherfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polonia Leszno's supporters rose to their feet, but Tom Rotherfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malcolm Merris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zak Moss charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zak Moss the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Wanstead was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zak Moss to maneuver through the defense. Malcolm Merris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Rotherfield in the 71st minute of the match. Carl May sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carl May received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Malcolm Merris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Rotherfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malcolm Merris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl May, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Micheal Featherson hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Malcolm Merris came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Polonia Leszno's Carl May. But to his dismay, Carl May quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Malcolm Merris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Rotherfield in the 97th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Polonia Leszno players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
