After a defensive mix-up in Roma's zone, Ralf North stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregory Carter came out of the goal and Ralf North tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reggie Botham hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Roger Colman's late challenge caught a Roma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Colman helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of English Invaders FC booed when Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Lundy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Roma's goalkeeper Gregory Carter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conan Fairfax. A collision led to English Invaders FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Roger Colman hit a great ball. The supporters of English Invaders FC booed when Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veli-Matti Lamminen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roma's Glen Goodwin got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Conan Fairfax fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregory Carter having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conan Fairfax got free with Gregory Carter in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gregory Carter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Travis Braithwaite in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute Glen Goodwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Archie Bartlett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Glen Goodwin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Archie Bartlett. English Invaders FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glen Goodwin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some careless play in the English Invaders FC defense, Glen Goodwin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Archie Bartlett. The English Invaders FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Archie Bartlett should have stopped the shot. Glen Goodwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

If Marek Gillow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Orchard in the 64th minute of play forced English Invaders FC's goalkeeper Archie Bartlett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Conan Fairfax had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glen Goodwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Archie Bartlett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to English Invaders FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Franz Miles hit a great ball. Glen Goodwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the game, Ralf North threw the ball into play from the sideline. Roma's Ralf Lawton quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Archie Bartlett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaac Orchard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregory Carter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conan Fairfax, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Glen Goodwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
