London United's Warren Riley got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. YNWA United's Kev Tonkin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save YNWA United from getting a goal against them. Warren Riley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kev Tonkin having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Peter Medlin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. YNWA United's Kev Tonkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ged Lennon in the 12th minute of play. In the 12th match minute, YNWA United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeffrey Fielden to maneuver through the defense. When Peter Medlin came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the London United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Medlin couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute of the match, Warren Riley got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kev Tonkin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Peter Medlin could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Kev Tonkin however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in London United's zone, Billie Gilchrist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marlon Stansfield came out of the goal and Billie Gilchrist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Warren Riley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. London United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Warren Riley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. London United's Ged Lennon got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Kev Tonkin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. London United's Ged Lennon got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. YNWA United's Kev Tonkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ged Lennon in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, YNWA United's Phillip Downton got a free kick in the 32nd minute. A hard shot by Gav Kellaway from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Kev Tonkin's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Ged Lennon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to YNWA United getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jeffrey Fielden hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeffrey Fielden to strike the kick off in the second half. Ged Lennon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Ged Lennon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kev Tonkin was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind London United's goalkeeper Marlon Stansfield, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Warren Riley came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the London United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Warren Riley couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Warren Riley in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kev Tonkin saved YNWA United from getting behind. Jeffrey Fielden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marlon Stansfield having to interfere. Kev Tonkin came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by London United's Warren Riley. But to his dismay, Warren Riley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Kev Tonkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ged Lennon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Peter Medlin came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the London United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Medlin couldn't finish the play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Ged Lennon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but YNWA United's Kev Tonkin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The London United fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when London United's Ged Lennon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Warren Riley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Kev Tonkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ged Lennon managed to get in a good position for a shot. London United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ged Lennon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kev Tonkin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Warren Riley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kev Tonkin was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. London United had played much better football throughout.
