Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ian Thackray started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Volitation was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dom Beadle to maneuver through the defense. Ray Pollard made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Keanu Munday sent off a good shot on target. In the 5th match minute, Volitation was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Bibby to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute Miles Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerry Bolton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerry Bolton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miles Laycock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerry Bolton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iain Wedlock in the 12th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Keanu Munday could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Ray Pollard however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 17 minutes, Kurt Easton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Volitation's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Easton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Ray Pollard managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Ribena's Ian Thackray fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ray Pollard was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gez Milton showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 25 minute of play. Gerry Bolton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iain Wedlock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Pollard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Thackray in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miles Laycock was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Volitation booed when Ribena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olly Needham didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Hugh Basham fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Volitation's protests and gave Hugh Basham a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gez Milton in the 54th minute of play forced Volitation's goalkeeper Ray Pollard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian Thackray in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ray Pollard saved Volitation from getting behind. Ronan Rockey hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Miles Laycock could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Gerry Bolton made a huge save. 60 minutes into the game, Gez Milton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ray Pollard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Miles Laycock could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Gerry Bolton made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian Thackray in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ray Pollard saved Volitation from getting behind. Ray Pollard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gez Milton, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute, Iain Wedlock reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gerry Bolton. The goal made the score 2-2. 78 minutes into the match, Volitation's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Thackray came free, but Ray Pollard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miles Laycock scored 2-3 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerry Bolton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Ribena's Ian Thackray in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Volitation's goalie prevented a goal.
