Eddie Fawcett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ged Lennon, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. If Ged Lennon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Marlon Stansfield managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Crazy Chickens London's Ashley Woodier fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Al Aspinall charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Al Aspinall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Kris Mansell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crazy Chickens London's supporters rose to their feet, but Kris Mansell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marlon Stansfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Ged Lennon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eddie Fawcett was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Warren Riley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ged Lennon struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Eddie Fawcett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for London United. The audience was convinced that Ian Beck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eddie Fawcett was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Eddie Fawcett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Warren Riley in the 30th minute of the match. Marlon Stansfield made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ashley Woodier in the 33rd minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Kris Mansell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crazy Chickens London's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kris Mansell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Warren Riley managed to get in a good position for a shot. London United's supporters rose to their feet, but Warren Riley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddie Fawcett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Warren Riley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eddie Fawcett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Riley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kris Mansell was the one to do the kick off. When Ged Lennon came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the London United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ged Lennon couldn't finish the play. Eddie Fawcett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ged Lennon, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Ged Lennon might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eddie Fawcett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ged Lennon ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to London United getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Warren Riley hit a great ball. Warren Riley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute, Warren Riley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eddie Fawcett was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Ashley Woodier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kris Mansell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Crazy Chickens London's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Ged Lennon scored to the left of an out of position Eddie Fawcett, making the score, 0-3. Ged Lennon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to London United getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Peter Medlin hit a great ball. Kris Mansell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded London United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Crazy Chickens London.
