An unexpectedly hard shot by Warren Riley in the 18th minute of play forced Volitation's goalkeeper Ray Pollard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Warren Riley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ray Pollard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miles Laycock to strike the kick off in the second half. Ray Pollard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Warren Riley in the 52nd minute. Ray Pollard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ged Lennon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Volitation's Ray Pollard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Volitation from getting a goal against them. Iain Wedlock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marlon Stansfield having to interfere. Warren Riley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Pollard having to interfere. Volitation's Ray Pollard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ged Lennon in the 72nd minute of play. Warren Riley in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ray Pollard, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of London United booed when Volitation was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Bibby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ray Pollard came out and tried to block the shot, but Ged Lennon slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 89th minute. In the 92nd match minute, London United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Horner to maneuver through the defense. If Iain Wedlock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. London United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
