He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. After 22 played minutes Kidderminster got a freekick which was hit by Brendon Rowe. Deon Linkletter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Rueben Pye-Finch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute Jez Glanvill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rueben Pye-Finch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ethan Stonehouse hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Max Ruddock, 36 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Stan Whitworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jez Glanvill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rueben Pye-Finch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Allan Strong managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sutton in Ashfield AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Strong was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rueben Pye-Finch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reggie Denham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Digby having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jez Glanvill made a kick off. Vince Digby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Clist in the 53rd minute of the match. Jeffrey Clist struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Vince Digby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kidderminster. Allan Strong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Rueben Pye-Finch made a huge save. Silvester Radcliffe's late challenge caught a Sutton in Ashfield AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvester Radcliffe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, Jez Glanvill made a precise shot to the right of Rueben Pye-Finch. Kidderminster's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Ethan Stonehouse's late challenge caught a Sutton in Ashfield AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Reggie Denham left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kidderminster fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. 79 minutes into the match, Sutton in Ashfield AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Reggie Denham came free, but Vince Digby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 84 played minutes Sutton in Ashfield AFC got a freekick which was hit by Deon Linkletter. Kurt Blackhurst charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kurt Blackhurst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
