Gerry West showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louie Maclean in the 7th minute of the match. Gregory Gerrard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fraser Haugue having to interfere. Gerry West made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louie Maclean in the 40th minute of play. Wes Cordingley took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gerry West. Gerry West dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Watford were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Watford getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Karl Greenman hit a great ball. Louie Maclean's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Gerry West skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 69 minutes into the game, Harry Garner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Folkestone AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Watford the free kick. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Rodney Horsell put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fraser Haugue. A collision led to Folkestone AFC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Frank Jones hit a great ball. Gregory Gerrard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Gregory Gerrard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Fraser Haugue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rodney Horsell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
