Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rupert Dunne kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Alec Hird was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hackney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gillingham the free kick. In the 3rd minute, Alec Hird hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 4 minutes, Darius Earnshaw mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gillingham and the Hackney FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hackney FC booed when Gillingham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darius Earnshaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alec Hird fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvester Robson having to interfere. Darius Earnshaw kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dean Tabb's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvester Robson was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Martin Murtagh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rupert Dunne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Gillingham getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Darius Earnshaw hit a great ball. With a little luck, Gillingham's Silvester Robson got control of the ball when Alec Hird tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute Dean Tabb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvester Robson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dean Tabb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alec Hird who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Silvester Robson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dean Tabb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvester Robson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alec Hird in the 40th minute. Laurence Chiverton kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Alec Hird sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Glenn Brindley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Les Ring having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dean Tabb to strike the kick off in the second half. Martin Murtagh's late challenge caught a Hackney FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Murtagh helped the player get up and apologised. Martin Murtagh hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, Dean Tabb notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Gillingham's Silvester Robson. Silvester Robson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dean Tabb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 67 minutes, Rupert Dunne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gillingham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert Dunne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Dom Ellershaw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hackney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gillingham the free kick. Dom Ellershaw kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Dean Tabb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvester Robson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dean Tabb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gillingham's Silvester Robson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Tabb in the 85th minute of play. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gillingham! In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Hackney FC. Sebastien Cooke stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Silvester Robson. 2-0. When the match clock showed 99 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Dean Tabb sped through Gillingham's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Silvester Robson. Hackney FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Gillingham for a fine match.
