Carl Ottaway blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simeon Askew having to make a save. Simeon Askew showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerry Croft in the 20th minute of the match. The referee showed Will Clifford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Holmer Green City got a freekick which was hit by Will Clifford. In the 68thth minute of the game Jonathan Sawyer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Holmer Green City's Calvin Robinson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carl Ottaway struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Simeon Askew didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Holmer Green City. In the 72nd minute Al Beech shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calvin Robinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Crowngate's zone, Gerry Croft stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simeon Askew came out of the goal and Gerry Croft tried to chip the ball over his head. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Holmer Green City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
