Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Heywood's Jerry Hutchings started the match with a crisp pass. In the 8th minute of the match Botley FC got a corner. Heywood's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wesley Coyle ran over to the corner to take the kick. Botley FC's Wesley Coyle was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Francis Hassell in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Heywood defense, Wesley Coyle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francis Hassell. The Heywood fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francis Hassell should have stopped the shot. Wesley Coyle scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Francis Hassell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Shane Baum struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Francis Hassell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botley FC. Doug Houghton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Hutchings, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute of the match Lance Owen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francis Hassell showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, one of Heywood:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Heywood. Francis Hassell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wesley Coyle went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 92nd minute, Wesley Coyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doug Houghton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Bull in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th match minute, Botley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keiran Dale to maneuver through the defense. Botley FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
