Ripon United's Adam Notley got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th match minute, Ripon United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colin Hay to maneuver through the defense. Louie Ainsworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralph Mawson in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Ripon United's Adam Notley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that William Ramstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Phil Bassett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Ramstad having to interfere. After 17 minutes, Phil Bassett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ripon United and the FC Colindale players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Stuart Dobby came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the FC Colindale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stuart Dobby couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ripon United's zone, Ralph Mawson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Louie Ainsworth came out of the goal and Ralph Mawson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Phil Bassett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ripon United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Bassett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute, Ralph Mawson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ripon United booed when FC Colindale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stuart Dobby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adam Notley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Ralph Mawson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Louie Ainsworth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ralph Mawson might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Louie Ainsworth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ralph Mawson ran back to his position shaking his head.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ralph Mawson made a kick off. Louie Ainsworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralph Mawson, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ripon United's zone, Stuart Dobby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Louie Ainsworth came out of the goal and Stuart Dobby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, FC Colindale's William Ramstad got control of the ball when Phil Bassett tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Adam Notley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving William Ramstad. That made the score 1-1 in the 69 minute of play. Phil Bassett who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of William Ramstad when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Henry Kerridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Ramstad having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, FC Colindale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Herzog to maneuver through the defense. Adam Notley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but William Ramstad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. When Robert Drury fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Colindale's protests and gave Robert Drury a yellow card for diving instead. If Adam Notley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ripon United players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented FC Colindale from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
