The goalkeeper, Sebastien Tetley, was totally fooled by SMB CITY's Harvey Pell, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 22nd minute Craig Venables shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doug Kidd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Craig Venables might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Doug Kidd. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. A collision led to Titans Fc getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jim Milligan hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Craig Venables stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, SMB CITY's Gaz Morris sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastien Tetley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sacha Hatcher kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After having played for 54 minutes, Perry Allanson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SMB CITY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perry Allanson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Craig Venables recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 67 played minutes Titans Fc's Jim Milligan stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Doug Kidd stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing SMB CITY of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Titans Fc players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
