Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Zack Downes got the match started through his kick off. Doug Kidd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Christie in the 4th minute of play. A hard shot 6 in the game by Perry Allanson from a close distance when the talented Sacha Allott managed to make a qualified save. Player 2 FC's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Perry Allanson got free with Sacha Allott in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sacha Allott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zack Downes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Player 2 FC's zone, Zack Downes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sacha Allott came out of the goal and Zack Downes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bart Whitmore made a great header on Player 2 FC's corner, it was just that SMB CITY's Doug Kidd managed to reach the ball for a save. Carl Christie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Doug Kidd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abraham Rhodes struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Doug Kidd didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Player 2 FC. SMB CITY's Doug Kidd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Christie in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of SMB CITY booed when Player 2 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Whitmore didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Player 2 FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zack Downes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Perry Allanson struck a weak shot in the 50th minute. Sacha Allott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SMB CITY. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abraham Rhodes to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damien Dobson during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 65 minutes, Zack Downes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SMB CITY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zack Downes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zack Downes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute Zack Downes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sacha Allott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Player 2 FC! The referee gave SMB CITY a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Harvey Pell, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Player 2 FC's Sacha Allott. 3-0. Zack Downes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sacha Allott having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zack Downes in the 85th minute of play forced Player 2 FC's goalkeeper Sacha Allott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes SMB CITY got a freekick which was hit by Terry Bastow. Terry Bastow hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abraham Rhodes in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doug Kidd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Perry Allanson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sacha Allott read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 102nd minute of play. Marty Tucker charged in rather forcefully in the 105th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marty Tucker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 105th match minute, SMB CITY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marty Tucker to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that SMB CITY were the better team. SMB CITY's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
