Stuart Davies received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Antony Ball tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ben Woodier hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Neil Watson got a free kick in the 12th minute. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ed Osborn sped through SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Antony Ball. In the 18thth minute of the game Ed Osborn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Antony Ball was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leon Brook made an important save on a dangerous shot by Les Byrom in the 21st minute. With a little luck, Maylandsea's Leon Brook got control of the ball when Les Byrom tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd minute Byron Hamilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antony Ball saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonny Mayos short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Leon Brook to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 26th minute Alistair Sheldon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Brook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonny Mayo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Leon Brook made a huge save. 37 minutes into the game, SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Jonny Mayo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leon Brook made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ed Osborn in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antony Ball prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maylandsea were furious when Pierre Houghton was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. It was beautiful to see SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Barry Bateson in action when he in the 45th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ed Osborn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ed Osborn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maylandsea's supporters rose to their feet, but Ed Osborn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antony Ball breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leon Brook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonny Mayo in the 59th minute of the match. Ben Woodier charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ben Woodier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SHIPLEY TOWN AFC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Ben Woodier hit a great ball. With a little luck, SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Antony Ball got control of the ball when Kristopher Fieldwick tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Byron Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Maylandsea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Byron Hamilton couldn't finish the play. When Byron Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Maylandsea fans jumped to their feet. Maylandsea's Leon Brook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Les Byrom in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Maylandsea's Loyd Henry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antony Ball narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Loyd Henry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antony Ball having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Byron Hamilton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to SHIPLEY TOWN AFC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Les Byrom hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alistair Sheldon in the 88th minute of play forced Maylandsea's goalkeeper Leon Brook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's zone, Byron Hamilton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antony Ball came out of the goal and Byron Hamilton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Loyd Henry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maylandsea's supporters rose to their feet, but Loyd Henry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antony Ball breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Loyd Henry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antony Ball made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Byron Hamilton in the 97th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Maylandsea players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
