Ralph Sheldon hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Ryan Childs might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andrew Holloway. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ryan Childs ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute, Lenny Endean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tosh Fairfax in the 87th minute of play forced England's goalkeeper Clive Adamson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 92 minutes, Ryan Childs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. England's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan Childs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. England's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
