Marc Drake was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roy Stewart hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. If Karl Ealham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jim Munday showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Selby in the 18th minute of the match. Karl Ealham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Totley's Rich Croxford tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Cambridge XXX's Jim Munday played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffrey Selby in the 27th minute of play. When Scott Lawson fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cambridge XXX's protests and gave Scott Lawson a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Cambridge XXX:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Totley:s goal. The referee gave Totley a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rich Croxford, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cambridge XXX's Jim Munday. 1-1. Jeffrey Selby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Munday having to interfere. Jeffrey Selby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute Jeffrey Selby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Munday saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Karl Ealham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Roy Stewart made the kick off in the second half. Benji Searle hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Roy Stewart's late challenge caught a Totley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roy Stewart helped the player get up and apologised. Roy Stewart kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match, Jeffrey Selby tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jim Munday saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Karl Ealham's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Jim Munday skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 61 minutes into the match, Jeffrey Selby dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jim Munday, 1-2. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Jeffrey Selby put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jim Munday. After 89 played minutes Totley got a freekick which was hit by Trev Pearce. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Karl Ealham got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jeffrey Selby blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jim Munday having to make a save. Marc Drake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roy Stewart in the 96th minute of the match. The Cambridge XXX supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Totley's performance. The match ended with a win for Totley.
