Spectators: 7357 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1757, VIP seats: 100) Connor Waddington started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 3 minutes, Wesley Kerr mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oldham City and the Frinton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 3 played minutes Oldham City got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Kerr. In the 4th minute, Shawn Clifford got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute, Joel Wilkins made a precise shot to the right of Sam Kennedy. Frinton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Adam Morris scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerry Birch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Oldham City's zone, Connor Waddington stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerry Birch came out of the goal and Connor Waddington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Wilkins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sam Kennedy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Connor Waddingtons short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Gerry Birch to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 34th minute, Frinton's Shawn Clifford ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gerry Birch. Gerry Birch yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Quentin Mowlem hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Oldham City's Gerry Birch got control of the ball when Connor Waddington tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wesley Kerr to make the kick off. Shawn Clifford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerry Birch having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Shawn Clifford got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gerry Birch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Connor Waddington in the 65th minute of play. Gerry Birch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Connor Waddington in the 67th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Frinton's Connor Waddington made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerry Birch was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Frinton booed when Oldham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Travis Armitstead didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Frinton getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Malcolm Pilgrim hit a great ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Travis Armitstead managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oldham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Travis Armitstead was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Oldham City getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Vernon Caine hit a great ball. When Frinton's Connor Waddington in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Oldham City's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Connor Waddington's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerry Birch was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Danny Banks hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Connor Waddington might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gerry Birch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Connor Waddington ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Frinton fully deserved thier win.
