Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Denzil Linford kicked off to start the match. After having played for 4 minutes, Joel Helks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leiston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Helks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 6th minute, Bedford City's Denzil Linford dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 12th minute, Joel Helks got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bedford City's Ian Marsden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seb Martin in the 15th minute of play. Seb Martin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Bedford City's goal looked a bit too open when Seb Martin came free, but Ian Marsden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Wayne Cowling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Bedford City's Bob Warnett broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. David Cooper kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Leiston's Ash Beswetherick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Leiston from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Helks in the 30th minute of play forced Bedford City's goalkeeper Ian Marsden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blair Wadham kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Denzil Linford left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bedford City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Bedford City's Warren Tate got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

53 minutes into the game, Warren Tate cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Ash Beswetherick was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joel Helks's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Ian Marsden skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ash Beswetherick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Tate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Grant Wring hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute Seb Martin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Marsden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bedford City's Ian Marsden proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Bedford City from getting a goal against them. After 92 minutes, Roy Tomlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bedford City and the Leiston players grew even worse after the yellow card.
