Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5623, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Howard Jump made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute Phil Hazell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerry Bowland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Philip Hay, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tipton's Lennie Oliver got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 18 minutes, Phil Hazell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tipton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Hazell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lennie Oliver might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gerry Bowland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lennie Oliver ran back to his position shaking his head. Simon Davenport charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simon Davenport the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes Tipton got a freekick which was hit by Philip Hay. After 31 played minutes The Myrmidons got a freekick which was hit by Will Blakeley. Tipton's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Philip Hay in the 45th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of The Myrmidons's goalie and right to Phil Hazell. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. The Myrmidons's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Phil Hazell to strike the kick off in the second half. With 53 minutes on the clock, Les Welsh commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Tipton:s Travis Barker showed great skill when he stopped Damian Bowe:s penalty. After 59 played minutes Tipton got a freekick which was hit by Billy Midson. Billy Midson kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Howard Jump received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Travis Barker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, The Myrmidons's Will Blakeley got a free kick in the 68th minute. Reg Jepsons short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Travis Barker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Reg Jepson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Travis Barker having to interfere. Lennie Oliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Billy Midson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tipton's supporters rose to their feet, but Billy Midson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerry Bowland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerry Bowland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennie Oliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Lennie Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerry Bowland having to interfere. Ben Roberts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerry Bowland having to interfere. Billy Midson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
