Spectators: 7530 (Terracing: 5649, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Robbie Langsford took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Kev Foley came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Long Hanborough AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kev Foley couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Woodley United's zone, Neil Young stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Sheene came out of the goal and Neil Young tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neil Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Marcus Sheene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lawrence Moss was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dennis Pelc. In the 15th minute, Dane Willis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute of the match Pat Messenger shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcus Sheene showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Kev Foley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Kev Foley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Sheene saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neil Young fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Sheene having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Woodley United got a freekick which was hit by Sammy Colt. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Neil Young managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Hanborough AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Neil Young was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Sheene breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlton Emmerson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Neil Young had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Kev Foley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Sheene saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neil Young's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Sheene read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Marcus Sheene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kev Foley to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kev Foley in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcus Sheene prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute, Rob Darko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lawrence Moss was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Neil Young's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Marcus Sheene skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience was convinced that Kev Foley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcus Sheene was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Kev Foley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Marcus Sheene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Kev Foley reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcus Sheene. The goal made the score 1-1. Robbie Langsford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lawrence Moss having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Kev Foley fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Long Hanborough AFC's Lawrence Moss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbie Langsford in the 85th minute of play. Marcus Sheene made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neil Young in the 91st minute. Neil Young came free with the goalkeeper in the 98th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcus Sheene could save by the left post. Woodley United succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Long Hanborough AFC had controlled the match.
