But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ashley Hickson couldn't finish the play. In the 17th match minute, LeaveMyArsealona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dean Stone to maneuver through the defense. Darius Aldridge took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Don Hitchen. LeaveMyArsealona's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Calvin Lister cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Don Hitchen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Don Hitchen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ashley Hickson, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Calvin Lister's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Don Hitchen was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Damion Lucas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Barrie Cullen made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Ashley Hickson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the LeaveMyArsealona defense, Ashley Hickson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Don Hitchen. The LeaveMyArsealona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Don Hitchen should have stopped the shot. Frank Carr kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Don Hitchen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calvin Lister's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Laurence Hawkins could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Don Hitchen however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in LeaveMyArsealona's zone, Calvin Lister stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Don Hitchen came out of the goal and Calvin Lister tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Calvin Lister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 minutes of play, Cheadle FC's Ashley Hickson made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Don Hitchen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Damion Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrie Cullen having to interfere.
