Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Squirtle Squad's Brian Gates started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Storm FC's Callum Ring dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Buster Woodford hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Callum Ring managed to get in a good position for a shot. Storm FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Callum Ring was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred Bamford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brian Gates might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rick Featherson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brian Gates ran back to his position shaking his head. Kieran Hurst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fred Bamford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rick Featherson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Gates in the 16th minute of the match. Kieran Hurst succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 18th playminute. Brian Gates recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Graham Timiney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute Callum Ring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Bamford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Squirtle Squad's zone, Kieran Hurst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fred Bamford came out of the goal and Kieran Hurst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 30 played minutes Squirtle Squad got a freekick which was hit by Niall Hutchins. Fred Bamford stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Callum Ring's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Dion Wise charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dion Wise the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Squirtle Squad's Dion Wise got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 41st match minute, Storm FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gordon Crosby to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, Squirtle Squad's goalkeeper Fred Bamford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kieran Hurst. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Storm FC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Squirtle Squad's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Will Pearson took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Will Pearson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fred Bamford quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fred Bamford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kieran Hurst in the 57th minute of the match. If Brian Gates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Squirtle Squad's Fred Bamford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Callum Ring in the 68th minute of play. Will Pearson, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tommy Wooding hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Brian Gates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Featherson having to interfere. 79 minutes into the game, Glenn Turk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Storm FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Squirtle Squad the free kick. In the 78th minute, one of Storm FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Storm FC. Callum Ring fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Bamford having to interfere. Fred Bamford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Callum Ring, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute Callum Ring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Bamford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Squirtle Squad's Dion Wise got a free kick in the 89th minute. When Storm FC's Kieran Hurst in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Squirtle Squad's goalie prevented a goal. 93 minutes into the game, Buster Woodford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Squirtle Squad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Storm FC the free kick. After 93 played minutes Squirtle Squad got a freekick which was hit by Buster Woodford. Fred Bamford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kieran Hurst in the 97th minute of play. After having played for 101 minutes, Callum Ring managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Storm FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Callum Ring was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Squirtle Squad's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
