Barmby on the Marsh
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Barmby on the Marsh's Chip Gilchrist started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Miles Le Tissier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barmby on the Marsh's supporters rose to their feet, but Miles Le Tissier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Marler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chip Gilchrist in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Marler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chip Gilchrist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Barmby on the Marsh's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Kyle Walsh kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Felix Parrott sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oliver Marler skillfully saved the ball. In the 20th minute, Chip Gilchrist fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 22 minutes into the match, WE UNITED's goal looked a bit too open when Chip Gilchrist came free, but Oliver Marler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to WE UNITED getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Kyle Walsh hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Chip Gilchrist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. WE UNITED's Glyn Harrison got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Paget in the 34th minute of play forced Barmby on the Marsh's goalkeeper Oscar Clist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Paget took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oscar Clist. Oscar Clist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Oliver Marler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chip Gilchrist in the 44th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Barmby on the Marsh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jools Dwyer to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Glyn Harrison made the kick off in the second half. Guy Vaughn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Oliver Marler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Paget's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oscar Clist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Glyn Harrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chip Gilchrist in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oliver Marler saved WE UNITED from getting behind. 84 minutes into the game, Rick Emberson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barmby on the Marsh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave WE UNITED the free kick. The supporters of WE UNITED booed when Barmby on the Marsh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Emberson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oliver Marler came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Barmby on the Marsh's Chip Gilchrist. But to his dismay, Chip Gilchrist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Chip Gilchrist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Oliver Marler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched WE UNITED eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
