Jerome Martin made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Louis Sercombe sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Waterloo and South Bank AFC's goalkeeper Jerome Martin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Louis Sercombe came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Petts Wood United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Sercombe couldn't finish the play. Jake Spink fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerome Martin having to interfere. Petts Wood United's Louis Sercombe got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jake Spink who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Jerome Martin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Louis Sercombe in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jerome Martin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jake Spink blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jerome Martin having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Jerome Martin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jake Spink in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerome Martin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jake Spink received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jerome Martin came out and tried to block the shot, but Jake Spink slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jake Spink was the one to do the kick off. Jake Spink might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerome Martin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jake Spink ran back to his position shaking his head. Petts Wood United's Jake Spink got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Louis Sercombe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petts Wood United's Louis Sercombe got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 91 minutes of play, Petts Wood United's Jake Spink made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerome Martin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Petts Wood United's zone, Jeffrey Broadhead stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidney Smith came out of the goal and Jeffrey Broadhead tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Petts Wood United had played much better football throughout.
