Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Petts Wood United's Jake Spink started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ian Everard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louis Sercombe in the 4th minute of play. Johnathan Marsden took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sidney Smith. Sidney Smith dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Johnathan Marsden came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Bollington City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnathan Marsden couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Greg Medley in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sidney Smith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Louis Sercombe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ian Everard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Petts Wood United booed when Bollington City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Elwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidney Smith was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Louis Sercombe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Louis Sercombe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnathan Marsden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Sidney Smith made a huge save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Greg Medley made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Petts Wood United's goal looked a bit too open when Greg Medley came free, but Sidney Smith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Louis Sercombe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ian Everard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th match minute, Bollington City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierce Goodwin to maneuver through the defense. Johnathan Marsden might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sidney Smith. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Johnathan Marsden ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnathan Marsden in the 58th minute of play forced Petts Wood United's goalkeeper Sidney Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnathan Marsden struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Sidney Smith didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bollington City. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Greg Medley sped through Petts Wood United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sidney Smith. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greg Medley in the 65th minute of play forced Petts Wood United's goalkeeper Sidney Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnathan Marsden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ian Everard made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Louis Sercombe sent off a good shot on target. 71 minutes into the game, Victor Elwick was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bollington City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Petts Wood United the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Bollington City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Petts Wood United:s goal. After 72 minutes Bollington City's goalkeeper Ian Everard managed, with a little bit of luck, save Lennie Beaver's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Sidney Smith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Greg Medley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Greg Medley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sidney Smith having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Sissons during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, Pedro Sissons hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sidney Smith stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Greg Medley's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, Greg Medley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sidney Smith. Petts Wood United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Greg Medley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Sidney Smith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greg Medley, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Kev Prutton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petts Wood United's supporters rose to their feet, but Kev Prutton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ian Everard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 96 played minutes Petts Wood United got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Sissons. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bollington City had won after a very even match.
