In the 28th match minute, Cirencester was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kev Bamford to maneuver through the defense. When Tommy Rice fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterloo and South Bank AFC's protests and gave Tommy Rice a yellow card for diving instead. Tommy Rice kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Jerome Martin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Fleetwood in the 32nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Nath Gill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Waterloo and South Bank AFC's Steven McCormick slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lucas Fox. That made the score 2-1 after 47 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A hard shot 55 in the game by Brian Shepherd from a close distance when the talented Jerome Martin managed to make a qualified save. Waterloo and South Bank AFC's players were relieved. Denny Beerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerome Martin having to interfere. Jerome Martin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brian Shepherd went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score.
