When Stephen Norton fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nunthorpe AFC's protests and gave Stephen Norton a yellow card for diving instead. Stephen Norton hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Kirk Cambridge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Winter, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Kirk Cambridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathan Winter in the 21st minute of the match. Nunthorpe AFC's Kirk Cambridge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Nunthorpe AFC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Whitchurch booed when Nunthorpe AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerry Whittington didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Leon Knowles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kirk Cambridge. The goal made the score 1-0. 41 minutes into the match, Leon Knowles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kirk Cambridge. Nunthorpe AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leon Knowles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Kirk Cambridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathan Winter in the 48th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nathan Winter made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Martyn Lemerond had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kirk Cambridge. Nunthorpe AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martyn Lemerond was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nathan Winter in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kirk Cambridge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Lemerond in the 59th minute of play forced Nunthorpe AFC's goalkeeper Kirk Cambridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Whitchurch's Bradley Haskell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kirk Cambridge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Kirk Cambridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jay Houghton in the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Martyn Lemerond ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kirk Cambridge was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Kirk Cambridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathan Winter in the 79th minute of the match. In the 86th minute Nathan Winter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirk Cambridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Whitchurch walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
