After a defensive mix-up in Stoneleigh's zone, Jerry Owen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Thorn came out of the goal and Jerry Owen tried to chip the ball over his head. Exeter's Buster Jump proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Exeter from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes into the match, Stoneleigh's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Owen came free, but Jacob Thorn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Hayden Forster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Stevie Welsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zack Delamore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buster Jump having to interfere. Stoneleigh's Jacob Thorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamie Clemence in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stevie Welsh in the 28th minute of play forced Exeter's goalkeeper Buster Jump to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stevie Welsh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buster Jump having to interfere. Jerry Owen struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Jacob Thorn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Exeter. Jacob Thorn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamie Clemence in the 38th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stevie Welsh in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Buster Jump saved Exeter from getting behind. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerry Owen was the one to do the kick off. Rueben Postolan hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Exeter's goal looked a bit too open when Stevie Welsh came free, but Buster Jump reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jamie Clemence kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jacob Thorn. That made the score 0-1 in the 79 minute of play. Jerry Owen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stevie Welsh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Buster Jump tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buster Jump showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevie Welsh in the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Zack Delamore cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Buster Jump was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
