Mbenghis's Donald Calder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Mbenghis from getting a goal against them. After 15 minutes of play, Mbenghis's Barney Winship made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Buster Jump was left in no man's land by his defense there! Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Donald Calder successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jamie Clemence in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donald Calder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rd minute Will Barfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Calder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barney Winship received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Buster Jump tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jamie Clemence could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Donald Calder made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jerry Owen to strike the kick off in the second half. Mbenghis's Donald Calder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Owen in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Owen in the 56th minute of play forced Mbenghis's goalkeeper Donald Calder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Jamie Clemence shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Calder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Mbenghis defense, Jerry Owen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donald Calder. The Mbenghis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donald Calder should have stopped the shot. In the 85thth minute of the game Jamie Clemence who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mbenghis's Donald Calder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jerry Owen took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Donald Calder. Donald Calder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. Antony Dothery's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Buster Jump firmly grabbed it by the left post. With his leg Buster Jump managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Mbenghis's Denis Philpott fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Exeter's Buster Jump got control of the ball when Antony Dothery tried to sneak it across the goal line.
