Russ Maylett could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Jacob Thorn made a huge save. If Stevie Welsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 37 played minutes Bude got a freekick which was hit by William Thomson. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stevie Welsh in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Billie Dunn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Russ Maylett scored 1-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacob Thorn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stevie Welsh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stevie Welsh to strike the kick off in the second half. 65 minutes into the game, Stevie Welsh recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Billie Dunn. Stevie Welsh showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 68 minutes into the match, Bude's goal looked a bit too open when Stevie Welsh came free, but Billie Dunn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacob Thorn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Bloom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Hayden Forster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sean Fenton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 78th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Russ Maylett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 84 minutes, Hayden Forster mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stoneleigh and the Bude players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute Stevie Welsh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billie Dunn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
