Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jerry Owen made the kick off which started today's match. Exeter's Buster Jump played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Starr in the 4th minute of play. Jamie Clemence fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Baldwin having to interfere. With a little luck, Manchester Athletic's Andre Baldwin got control of the ball when Jamie Clemence tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andre Baldwin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Owen in the 14th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Jerry Owen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andre Baldwin. Manchester Athletic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerry Owen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 21st minute, one of Exeter:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Exeter. Jamie Clemences short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Andre Baldwin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 36 minutes into the match, Exeter's Jamie Clemence sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andre Baldwin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Exeter's Todd Gallagher got a free kick in the 45th minute. Buster Jump showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnny Tompkins in the 49th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Johnny Tompkins to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the game, Johnny Tompkins recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Buster Jump. Johnny Tompkins showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. When Jamie Clemence came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Exeter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jamie Clemence couldn't finish the play. Sly Thornton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Buster Jump made a huge save. The Exeter manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Manchester Athletic to win.
