In the 12th minute, Joel Spann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bude fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Billie Dunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Philpott in the 16th minute of play. Donald Calder didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Spann went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 22 minutes into the game, Bude's Russ Maylett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donald Calder made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Sean Fenton charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sean Fenton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bude's Sean Fenton got a free kick in the 25th minute. Donald Calder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Russ Maylett in the 27th minute of the match. Billie Dunn made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Barney Winship sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Bude's Billie Dunn got control of the ball when Antony Dothery tried to sneak it across the goal line. Denis Philpott blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Billie Dunn having to make a save. Jake Webster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Donald Calder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donald Calder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Russ Maylett in the 34th minute of the match. Bude were winning 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barney Winship stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Mbenghis's Carl Linford got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The long shot by Joel Spann in the 55th minute really tested Donald Calder's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of Bude booed when Mbenghis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pat Beavan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 61 played minutes Mbenghis got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Patterson. In the 62nd minute, Sean Fenton sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mbenghis's Donald Calder didn't even have to move. After 64 played minutes Mbenghis got a freekick which was hit by Carl Linford. After 66 played minutes Mbenghis got a freekick which was hit by Keith Dryden. In the 67th minute of the match Sean Fenton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donald Calder showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Donald Calder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Bloom, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Mbenghis's Donald Calder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Thomson in the 72nd minute of play. William Thomson hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bude's zone, Antony Dothery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billie Dunn came out of the goal and Antony Dothery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Mbenghis getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Vance Blain hit a great ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mbenghis fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! Billie Dunn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antony Dothery, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Bude's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
