Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 152) Thornbury's Damon Flower started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Damon Flower hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 3rdth minute of the game Erik Wennerqvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thornbury's Joseph Brindley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hugh Blythe hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Sol Hargraves hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Erik Wennerqvist received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joseph Brindley came out and tried to block the shot, but Erik Wennerqvist slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 24th minute. Joseph Brindley was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Erik Wennerqvist showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 29 minute of play. Freddie Jobson hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Thornbury's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Erik Wennerqvist scored to the left of an out of position Joseph Brindley, making the score, 5-0. Erik Wennerqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Joseph Brindley made a huge save. Sol Hargraves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Erik Wennerqvist lined in a short shot 6-0 behind a frustrated Joseph Brindley. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erik Wennerqvist to strike the kick off in the second half. Des Conway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Brindley having to interfere. Galacticos's Sol Hargraves got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erik Wennerqvist spun around in front of the goal 64 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Thornbury's goal. 69 minutes into the game, Cosmo Brown was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galacticos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thornbury the free kick. In the 69th minute, Cosmo Brown hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joseph Brindley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Wennerqvist's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute Erik Wennerqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Brindley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Erik Wennerqvist notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Thornbury's Joseph Brindley. Joseph Brindley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 80th minute Erik Wennerqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Brindley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Des Conway recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Des Conway sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joseph Brindley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erik Wennerqvist went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. After 90 minutes, Gav Daly mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Thornbury and the Galacticos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Erik Wennerqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Brindley having to interfere. Galacticos walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
