Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Junior Worrall started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Junior Worrall made a precise shot to the right of Kurt Bullock. Matlock's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Harry Stockton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martyn Duggan having to make a save. Matlock's Kurt Bullock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Junior Worrall in the 12th minute of play. After some careless play in the Matlock defense, Junior Worrall kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kurt Bullock. The Matlock fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kurt Bullock should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Ivor Llyod managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haslingfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivor Llyod was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kurt Bullock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Junior Worrall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matlock's goalkeeper Kurt Bullock, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kurt Bullock stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Junior Worrall's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. David Steel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 43 minutes into the match, Matlock's goal looked a bit too open when Junior Worrall came free, but Kurt Bullock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Haslingfield were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harry Stockton was the one to do the kick off. If David Steel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute David Steel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyn Duggan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If David Steel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Haslingfield booed when Matlock was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronan Smith didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 played minutes, Haslingfield's Des Beadel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kurt Bullock came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Haslingfield reached it. The supporters of Haslingfield booed when Matlock was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martyn Fawell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute, Haslingfield's Junior Worrall ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kurt Bullock. Kurt Bullock yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Hayden Foley charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hayden Foley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hayden Foley kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Ronan Smith, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Martyn Duggan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Stockton in the 76th minute of play. Ivor Llyod blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kurt Bullock having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Junior Worrall took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Kurt Bullock to make any attempt to save it. After 84 played minutes Matlock got a freekick which was hit by Martyn Fawell. Des Beadel's shot from long distance in the 85th minute was not bad at all, but Matlock's Kurt Bullock knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Haslingfield's Junior Worrall slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kurt Bullock. That made the score 0-5 after 87 minutes of play. Oliver Perryman's late challenge caught a Matlock's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliver Perryman helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Haslingfield getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Oliver Perryman hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the match, Haslingfield's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Stockton came free, but Martyn Duggan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th match minute, Haslingfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Perryman to maneuver through the defense. Harry Stockton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Duggan having to interfere. The Haslingfield supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Haslingfield would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
