Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kurt Bullock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damon Flower, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. A collision led to Matlock getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Alfie Moyle hit a great ball. Joseph Brindley made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when David Steel sent off a good shot on target. Joseph Brindley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alistair Notley in the 9th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Harry Stockton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matlock's supporters rose to their feet, but Harry Stockton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Brindley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th match minute, Matlock was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamal Hunter to maneuver through the defense. After 20 minutes, Sonny Medlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matlock and the Thornbury players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, Sonny Medlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Thornbury booed when Matlock was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martyn Fawell didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Steel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Joseph Brindley made a huge save. In the 32nd minute Harry Stockton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Brindley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph Brindley came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Matlock's David Steel. But to his dismay, David Steel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Gav Daly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Thornbury's goalkeeper Joseph Brindley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kurt Bullock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damon Flower in the 46th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damon Flower made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Damon Flower took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Kurt Bullock to make any attempt to save it. Thornbury's Joseph Brindley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alistair Notley in the 60th minute of play. Joseph Brindley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Steel in the 63rd minute of play. In the 72nd minute Martyn Fawell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Brindley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damon Flower received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Kurt Bullock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jamal Hunter kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, Harry Stockton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Joseph Brindley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 86 minutes of play, Matlock's David Steel made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joseph Brindley was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Stockton in the 93rd minute of play forced Thornbury's goalkeeper Joseph Brindley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thornbury's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
