Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kidderminster Harriers's Rob Downton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vern Delamore didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karl Sugden went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Kidderminster Harriers's Rob Downton got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 9th minute, Karl Sugden left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kidderminster Harriers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Andrew Batty's late challenge caught a Kidderminster Harriers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrew Batty helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Co Durham FC's Andrew Batty got a free kick in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Co Durham FC's zone, Karl Sugden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vern Delamore came out of the goal and Karl Sugden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Phil Nancy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Co Durham FC's zone, Rob Downton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vern Delamore came out of the goal and Rob Downton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Todd Letheren placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Rob Downton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romeo Higgins hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The supporters of Kidderminster Harriers booed when Co Durham FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrew Batty didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Kidderminster Harriers's Rob Downton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vern Delamore. Vern Delamore yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Fraser Read made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Karl Sugden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kidderminster Harriers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Sugden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute, Rob Downton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rob Downton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Vern Delamore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl Sugden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Delamore having to interfere. Alec Barker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fraser Read in the 65th minute of play. A collision led to Kidderminster Harriers getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Sammy Picker hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Co Durham FC's Fraser Read sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alec Barker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Co Durham FC's Andrew Batty got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Andrew Batty off the ground. Todd Letheren took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vern Delamore. Co Durham FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 73 played minutes Kidderminster Harriers got a freekick which was hit by Damion Baxter. Karl Sugden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Delamore having to interfere. Karl Sugden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Vern Delamore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Phil Nancy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sammy Picker hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Sugden in the 90th minute of play forced Co Durham FC's goalkeeper Vern Delamore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kidderminster Harriers's Rob Downton got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kidderminster Harriers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
